Connecting from Apache webserver to Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.5.04 using Perl

The only way I have found to connect from any Linux machine to Sybase's SQL Anywhere using Perl is to use a DBI proxy server running on a Windows platform. The proxy server can then make a Windows ODBC connection to the database using the ODBC drivers supplied with the database software.
